Coach Brantley Barr has been a coach with the Cross Country and Track programs at Coral Springs High School since 1981 and is currently the Head Coach of both programs. He has also been the Head Coach for Girls' Soccer on a couple of occasions and is currently in that position.
During his tenure, Coach Barr has hosted nearly 400 track and cross country competitions including numerous championship events, along with three State Track Meets at Coral Springs High. He has been recognized as the Broward County Coach of the Year multiple times, received a special Award of Service for his contributions to Track and Field in Broward County, has had the City Track Meet named after in his honor, and was named the State of Florida Coach of the Year for Girls' Cross Country in 1989 when the Colts captured the State Championship. The Cross Country and Track programs have sent nearly 100 athletes to compete at the collegiate level, including 2008 Olympic Medalist Walter Dix. The Girls' Soccer program has also sent a number of athletes to compete in college. Coach Barr is a 1979 graduate of Coral Springs High, the first four year class in the history of the school.
